Holiday Weekend

I sat in the big leather chair holding
Auggie, breathing in his soapy
clean smelling head and enjoying his
baby strokes that he makes on my arm.

I am thankful for this healthy little boy
who is growing like a weed.

Now I sit quietly in my living room in front of
a fire with my husband.
Auggie is sleeping and so are the dogs.
I take a deep relaxing breath, glad that
the world will get back to normal after
a holiday weekend.

I am thankful for this beautiful family of mine.
