Zoo

At the zoo
Auggie pet goats
Fed giraffes
Chased sparrows
and
Watched the chimps

At the fall festival he stuffed scarecrows
and watched the most passionless trio play
music.... he didn't seem to mind the lack of
soul though.

Haven't had a lot of words in me lately, but
we've been busy doing lots of "fall things" as
a family.

Maybe some writing inspiration will strike soon.

Belvedere

Roasted Garlic at the smokery looked so savory good!
We had perfect sandwiches on crusty bread.
I love looking at the olives and smoked fish, as visually
pleasing as they are tasty.

If you haven't been to Belvedere Square lately it is a
wonderful fall jaunt.

Fall

It is still cold and rainy.

Perfect evening to bake.
I don't want to have a whole pie hanging
around so I decide to make mini apple turnovers.
Of course things are never so easy.
I didn't use a recipe.
HMMM not enough crust.

We ended up with "Rustic Apple Logs"

They were actually very good.
They just were not pretty.

This made me remember when my father was
attempting to make the perfect beef jerky.
He make a huge batch of it. Dried it in the oven.
The problem was that the pieces weren't flat like
jerky. They were round and shriveled. Kind of like
a tootsie roll. Actually they looked more like a dried
up old piece of cat turd. He called them "Beef Roly
Polys"

Weber's Farm- Fall Is Here!

What I enjoyed most about Weber's farm today
was the smell of the hay.

I was sad that we didn't
get to see any apples being pressed today, but
bought fresh cider and some vidalia onion dressings.
Yum!

The duck race was on hiatus, but I
thought the sight of them all resting in the tin
tub was nice.
