After I tried:
cajoling
shooshing
rocking
nursing
and Auggie tried:
pulling my hair
climbing the headboard
ripping a book
crying
fussing
He FINALLY fell asleep for his morning nap.
I sighed deeply, wondering if I could reach my book
on the other side of the bed without waking him.

HMM, I wonder what that noise is...

A frickin JACKHAMMER starts up outside of my window!!!!
