I get this in my e-mail:
Please accept this as notification we have received your application materials for the position of Planned Giving and Major Gifts Officer. We will contact you if we need any further information.
Thank you for your interest in CENTERSTAGE.
REALLY??!!! THAT's IT??
I can't believe it...
So I decided to send a second e-mail.
July 29, 2010
To Whom It May Concern:
Since I haven't had a response to my earlier interest in your current development position I thought perhaps
I should write and elaborate. I covered my penchant for planning, but did not really go into detail on my
love of Major Gifts. I am creative in my love of Major Gifts, so although I enjoy the standard
gifts such as cars or diamonds, I also have a great appreciation for quirkier gifts. So if someone surprised me
with say, a chicken, I would call that a major gift and enjoy it thoroughly. I also wouldn't turn down ponies,
shoes or fine art!! So you see, not only am I excellent at planned giving, I am totally a Major Gifts person.
I will even consider your timely response to my e-mail a Major Gift!!! I plan to have a lovely conversation
with you in the future (SEE- Again with the planning- I can't even HELP IT!!!)
Sincerely,
Marni
P.S. Although I am not an officer, I do accept and appreciate Major Gifts from officers.
TO BE CONTINUED....
